Egyptian startup Wuilt has secured $2 million in funding to expand its free, AI-powered website builder across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). This investment underscores the growing demand for accessible digital tools among small businesses in the region.

Founded in 2019 by Ahmed Rostom and Mahmoud Metwaly, Wuilt offers a no-code platform that enables users to create professional websites and online stores without any coding knowledge. In April 2025, the company made a strategic decision to eliminate all subscription fees in Egypt, resulting in over 20,000 new merchants joining the platform within a short period.)

The recent funding round was led by Flat6Labs and MTF VC, with participation from  JIMCO (Abdul Latif Jameel’s venture capital arm), Purity Tech, and several angel investors. 

With the new capital, Wuilt plans to launch its free platform in the UAE by Q4 2025, followed by expansion into other GCC countries and Turkey in early 2026. The company is also developing AI-driven features to help merchants manage and grow their businesses. 

Wuilt’s decision to offer its core platform for free reflects a commitment to democratizing access to digital tools. By removing financial barriers, the company aims to empower small businesses and social sellers across MENA to establish a digital presence and participate in the online economy. 

This strategic move positions Wuilt as a key player in the digital transformation of MENA’s small business sector, providing entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
